Bhutan

Bhutan flag
Bhutan is perhaps one of the very few pockets remaining of adventure destinations hitherto untouched by modernization – A Shangri-La. Situated in the Great Himalayan range;   it is bordered by Tibet in the north & to its south by India. As a purely Buddhist country, it has a rich & unique culture, tradition & way of life which still remains pristine. Traveling in Bhutan is like being transported back to medieval time & age.

VISA

Visa for Bhutan must be processed at least a month in advance. 2 passport size photographs & passport copies must be submitted through your travel agent to concerned authorities in Bhutan. Actual visa will only be issued upon arrival in Bhutan on payment of USD 20 visa fee.

SEASON

There are 4 distinct seasons similar in their divisions to those of Western Europe. The Monsoon occurs between June & August when the temperature is normally between 46-69 degree Fahrenheit. Temperatures drop dramatically with increases in altitude. Days are usually very pleasant with clear skies & sunshine. Nights are cold & require woollen clothing, particularly in winter.

The best time of the year to visit Bhutan is September to December & again March to mid June. During this period rainfall is at a minimum & temperatures are conducive to active days of sightseeing.
