Makalu Trek

Day 01
Arrival in Kathmandu. Sunrise Trekking staff picks up the guest from Tribhuvan International Airport. Transfer to hotel. Welcome dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant with our tour operator. Briefing about tour.

Day 02
Kathamndu Valley sightseeing

Day 03
Kathmando Tumlingtar by flight then walk to Khadbari. Land at Tumlingtar, Have Lunch in the shade of Kabra treees walk north towards kadbari after lunch,for aabout 3 to 4 hrs.Begin walking on a plateaur for about 45 minutes after which thre trek starts climbing gradually 2½ to 3 hrs. to reach Khadbari camp above the village on large grassy field.
 

Day 04
Khadbari to Chichila. After brekfast walk through many small picturesque villages always walking up hill throuh not very steep. Walk for abpit 3 to 3½ hrs. To have lunch at Goure.Start climbing for about 2½ hrs to camp to Gogane( better camp is at Chicila about 1 hr. From Gogane.)

Day 05
Chichila to Num. Start in the morning with views of snow caaspped peaks in the distance .Wonder ful views fof Makalu and its surrounding peaks. Walk on a straight path with little  ups and downs through forest to have lunch at about 2 hrs. And then start descening for about ½ hrs to reach Num ,Camp at the school surrounded by hoses inhabited by Chetries, Tulse is seen from here.

Day 06
Num to Uling.Walk steep down hill toreach the Arun river( time from Num about and hour) Cross the bridge of steel and sascend for about 2½ to 3 hrs to have lunch at Gadhi which is a police check post .After lunch, walk steep uphil! For about 1½hrs after which walk about ½hr to camp at Uling.A small Khola separated .Uling from Ala.Both the villages are inhabited by Rais and Sherpas.

Day 07
Uling to Bumbgkin.Walk thorugh a picutresque Rai village for abouut 15 minutes.Then Start descending steeeply to the river,Kastwa.Cross the river by a smalland ascend uphill for about 1 hr. To have lunch.Walk steep uphill through Sherpa village  for about 2 hrs to camp to Bumgkin a Sherpa village.

Day 08
Bumbgkin to Utise. Walk from Bumgkin to utise for about 2½ hrs going at first through Tashigoan a Sherpa village,after which will go though forest area to camp at utise near a Small Khola.There is no water after Utise,except at Khonmpa which is a day away from Utise.

Day 09
Utise to Khongma Gaon. All the way it is steep uphill for ½ hr away from Utise is Chisyl walking through dense forest of Rhondodendrons to “Khongam Gaon” through Danda Kharka,Dunga Kharka and Usha all a pine meadows(time from Utise to Khongama Goan is about 2½ hrs.) 

Day 10
Khongma Gaon to Base Camp.From Khongma walk through snow to changse danda time for about 1½ hrs From Magar changse danda a close up view of Makalu is visisble as well as the surronding Himalya cross Barun passs and camp below Makalu base camp.

Day 11,12,13 & 14

Day 15 to Lower camp.

Day 16 to Khongama.

Day 17 to Utise.

Day 18 to Num.

Day 19 to Bhote Bas

Day 20 to Kharbandi.

Day 21 to Tumlingtar.

Day 22
Fly back to Kathmandu by Charter flight.

Day 23 Kathmandu.

Day 24 Departure to the Airport

 If any body would prefered to climb trekking peak 3 dyas will be extra.
