MMt.Everestountaineering in Nepal

Nepal is a country well known for its Himalayan Mountains. Among the 10 highest peaks in the world, eight, including the highest peak Mt. Everest, crown this country. Nothing on earth can beat the exhilaration of scaling them. No wonder Nepal is the favorite destination for mountaineers and every year more than 600 expeditions trudge up the Himalayan, including the trekking peaks.

Rule & Regulations to apply Nepal Mountaineering Expeditions permits:-

1. Information for permit application submission:

2. The garbage deposit system that is due prior to the expedition, and it is refundable at the end if all regulations are followed.

3. The expedition group is responsible for the following necessities of the trip:

a) Cost of liaison officer and staff needed for expedition
b) Personal climbing equipment
c) Climbing permit fee
d) Park or conservation area fee

Seasons:

There are four mountaineering seasons: spring (March/May), summer (June/August) autumn (September/November) and winter (December/February). A total of 153 Himalayan peaks are open to mountaineers. Climbing permits are issued by the Ministry of Tourism & Civil Aviation (MOTCA) for 135 peaks known as mountaineering peaks, and by the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) for 18 smaller peaks, known as trekking peaks, which range from 5,587 to 6,654 m in altitude.

Royalty and members:-

1. For any expedition can include 7 members and maximum 5 extra members.
2. Beside the royalties, an extra amount of 25% must be paid if the route of ascent will be changed while on expedition, for Everest the amount is USD 10000.
3. You must follow all rules and regulations of the Government of Nepal and re-export the garbage (regulation are below).
4. Eventual Trekking Permits are included in the Royalties.

Deposit for garbage

All expeditions are responsible for their garbage, should this non be managed as per rules, the deposit will remain with the concerned authority.

Garbage and its categories:

1. Biodegradable, can be burnt or buried:
paper and cartoon, wood, natural clothing material, foodstuff, dead bodies.
2. Recyclables Material:
Metal, Plastic, reusable gas container, etc.
3. Materials zoom Re-export:
Oxygen bottles, Batteries, personal equipments, electronic devices.

Biodegradable garbage can be buried or burnt, in presence of a official person.
Recyclables materials must be brought back to Kathmandu and re-exportable ones re-exported to the country of origin.
The Government Liaisons Officer is responsible for the correct implementation of all rules and represents the Government of Nepal.
